About the Author

Tim McCormick MBA, FCA, having visited over 50 countries described as democracies, is a writer, researcher, and global thinker with a lifelong passion for democracy, justice, and equality. His career has spanned finance, governance, and education, giving him firsthand insight into the ways politics, economics, and culture intersect. In Liberal Democracy Battling for Survival: A Plan for Action, McCormick distils decades of experience, study, and observation into a bold exploration of why democracy is under siege and how it can be renewed. His previous books concerned strategic cost reduction and banking reform. His work is informed not only by political science and history but also by economics, communications, psychology, and ethics, making his analysis both wide-ranging and accessible.

Deeply committed to humanitarian values, McCormick dedicates the book to those who have fought for freedom, from Ukraine and Gaza to journalists and reformers around the world. In line with this commitment, all author royalties are donated to Médecins Sans Frontières, supporting their vital work in conflict zones. Tim McCormick writes with urgency, clarity, and conviction, urging readers to defend democracy, not as an abstract ideal, but as the foundation of a just and free future.
